Note: When John Murtha, with no evidence to support his claims, accused the Haditha Marines of being "cold-blooded killers," he was apparently using his power as head of the House Defense Appopriations Subcommittee to intimidate the military into charging soldiers with crimes they had not committed. The evidence suggests Murtha's condemnations of the Marines were false in every particular -- and served mainly to embloden the enemy.
